– SAMEDAY, one of Romania’s leading players in the courier market, announces that the SAMEDAY App, its mobile app for managing sent and received parcels, has reached 2 million downloads in its first year since launch, becoming the most widely used courier app in the country.
The total investment in developing, integrating, and expanding the app’s functionalities amounts to approximately 2 million euros. Launched in September 2023, the mobile app has redefined how parcels are managed, offering users a streamlined, personalized experience. The SAMEDAY App offers users full control over their shipments through a broad set of features, ensuring both predictability and flexibility in every stage of the delivery process.
1 in 5 online shoppers in Romania has used SAMEDAY App
According to the latest data from Eurostat, approximately 54% of internet users in Romania, counting 7.1 million people[1], shopped online in 2023. Based on this figure, the number of people who used the SAMEDAY App in the past six months accounts for over 20% of the total estimated Romanian online shoppers in 2023.

Courier Review: a new feature in the app
Starting in October, users can rate couriers who deliver parcels to their homes, provide reviews on their delivery experience, and give feedback on aspects such as communication, package handling, and adherence to delivery instructions. By implementing this evaluation system, Sameday aims to continuously monitor service quality and enhance the delivery experience based on user feedback.
More control over parcel management
The increasing popularity of the app and its impact on enhancing the delivery experience have been further validated by the results of a company-conducted study this year. According to the study, more than half of frequent courier app users consider the SAMEDAY App the most effective solution on the market due to its broad range of features and intuitive interface.
The study also highlighted the most valued features among users:
To date, the most common actions taken by users in the SAMEDAY App have been postponing deliveries, canceling orders before delivery, and redirecting parcels to another easybox, a different address, or a neighbor.
Another frequently used feature is card payment directly in the SAMEDAY App, allowing users who initially chose cash on delivery to complete their payment online through the app. To date, nearly a quarter of a million parcels have been paid for using this method.
Through the SAMEDAY App, users can easily access the SAMEDAY easyway service, which allows individuals or companies without an active contract with Sameday to send parcels. Anyone needing to send a package quickly and affordably can use the app to register a shipment request and generate the AWB directly within the SAMEDAY App. Starting this month, users can choose from a full range of delivery options: drop-off at an easybox with delivery to another easybox or an address, or opt for courier pick-up with delivery to an easybox or an address.
CCurrently, the SAMEDAY mobile app ranks first in the “Utilities” category on the App Store and holds the second position among Romanians’ preferences in the “Productivity” category on Google Play. . The share of downloads on Android is approximately 20 percentage points higher than that on the App Store. The SAMEDAY App is available for free on both platforms.

The market study conducted by Sameday was carried out in April 2024, using the CAWI method, on a sample of 800 people, representative at the national level for consumers in urban areas who order online.
